It's a Digital World...
I am a graduate student at St. Mary's College of California and I've been teaching middle and high school science for the past 8 years. This website represents the Capstone Project for my master's degree in Education.
My research over the past year has covered how to incorporate digital technology into the classroom in a way that will promote student engagement and motivation. In doing this research, I found countless strategies and proven methods to do just that, which inspired me to go completely paperless in my classroom this year. It has been a challenge, and there have been some technological 'glitches,' but I am really proud of my paperless classroom, and I think the troubleshooting is absolutely worth it when you see motivated, engaged students that are lessening their carbon footprints!
I hope that teachers at all grade levels can use my website to find new and engaging forms of technology to use in their classrooms. Inside this site, you will find tutorials on how to use a variety of digital tools that have proven to be successful in my classroom. I have tried to showcase these tools in ways that would prove useful to all teachers, but you will find that some do gear specifically towards a science classroom.
Welcome to my digital world!
